Peace in Heaviness

You will keep in perfect peace, all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you! Isaiah 26:3 (NLT)

The title alone seems like a dichotomy right? That is what I thought too as I sat in it recently. I started sensing a great shaking coming a couple of years ago. Now it is a reality that is creating massive disruption-everywhere. And with that a sense of heaviness that many are feeling across the globe.

I find it interesting how our carnal nature gravitates toward many worldly things as a way of distraction. When I started to sense, feel, and see the heaviness (deep darkness) approaching, I too gravitated toward distraction. However, what I needed most was realignment and redirection.

And redirect, I did, but it was a fight and I am still fighting. I had to intentionally shift my focus on whom I have faith in. The fight began in my secret place. The place where I sit with God, where I worship, pray, intercede, pour out my heart, and find rest. That rest brings His perfect peace; that peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). The peace that does not make sense in a fractured environment. The peace that if it was not for the hand of God over my life, I would not have.

This peace is available for everyone, but you must come to the Father. You must believe in Jesus Christ. You must be led by the Holy Spirit. The heaviness that you are feeling is normal in this season. We are entering very dark times. Believers are being called to enter that secret place, to fight, be the light, and pray like never before.

Gods Word is clear and says “if my people who are called by My name humble themselves, and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land”. (2 Chronicles 7:14)

Take time today to do just that and rest in His perfect peace.
