Am I trying to win over human beings or God? Or am I trying to please people? Galatians 1:10a

Last week I was talking to my BFF. I mentioned that I have to be mindful of not “people pleasing”. It is funny that after all these years, I can struggle with this. I also think by no coincidence that God places me in situations where I would be challenged by this. And as God does, He uses opportunities to bring this to my awareness.
While reading Galatians, I was reminded again. It highlighted what I need to commit myself to do daily for the “Audience of One”. And I know this will become even more harder to do. The world lives for instant gratification which is externally driven. We can be motivated by the acceptance of others before searching to see what God wants.
We were created to worship- God; not man. He reminded me this morning to not mistake people pleasing from honoring others. He reminded to lean into the Holy Spirit when I sense the tug to create a boundary. I see the importance of this in leadership each day. So many are vying for attention without intention. I believe God showed me this to correct me, to protect me, and to redirect me. He can do the same for you too-just lean in and follow through.
